December 11, 2010 - Linger wins St. Jude Dream Home
In a world that's obsessed with reality, it's refreshing to know that dreams can come true. Point in case, look at Deloris Linger, the winner of the St. Jude Dream Home.
Deloris had a smile on her face when she saw her dream home for the first time. She made a donation to St. Jude without the thought of buying a ticket. But they sent her one anyway. She said she knew her fate from that moment on.
"I kept telling all the family that I was going to win this home. And of course they all laughed," she said.
Her family isn't laughing now. They smiled with joy as they walked through the home.
Deloris said she still remembers exactly what her husband said right before they drew her ticket.
"He was standing by the door, and he said 'and the winner is...', just being smart, and they just echoed him when they called out my name."
This Weston resident said she's still shocked at the outcome. She said she and her husband are really considering keeping the house...

October 18, 2010 - Dream Home Open To Public
The drawing date is drawing near, and the St. Jude Dream Home officially opened its doors to the public Saturday afternoon.
Many volunteers, including Fox 10 anchor Sunshine Wiles, and representatives from The Gap clothing store were on hand to help show off the dream home.
The home is valued at $450,000, and just about all the furnishings and fixtures were donated by many local businesses. "They just continue to donate and step up to the plate for this cause," said Stoneridge Homes owner David Smith. "It's amazing what they've done and everything that they've put into the home, like tireless hours, but they've also supplied us with materials above and beyond what we'd expect."

July 2010 - Dream Home Update
We broke ground on June 2 and we're making steady
progress. The house has been staked out by Potesta Engineering. Clearing of the lot
and excavating for the foundation has been completed by Premier Contracting and
Snider Excavating. The foundation has been poured by Price Quality Concrete, with
concrete provided by Alcon and Rebar by George Wilson Company. The
foundation has been pest controlled by Appalachian Pest Control and is currently
being back filled by Snider Excavating. Slabs are being prepped and will be poured
by the concrete trio of Price, Alcon, and George
Wilson. EZ Welding will set the basement steel
and then the framing commences. O.C. Cluss
Lumber Co. has material on the ground and
waiting for the NES Unlimited team to start
framing. This process should be complete and
under roof within a week. Stop and see the
Dream Home unfold into reality!
